Position Overview:

The Vertical Development Superintendent will oversee the daily operations of the Rhino team, managing personnel, ensuring safety, and reporting on daily performance and productivity. This role is pivotal in achieving Barminco’s strategic objectives by maintaining high standards of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of vertical development schedules, ensuring all objectives are met within specified timelines and budgets.
• Lead and manage a diverse team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and productivity.
• Monitor and maintain the highest quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and providing regular project updates.
• Develop and manage project finances, tracking expenses, and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
• Efficiently allocate and manage resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimise project outcomes.
• Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting regular safety audits and promoting a culture of safety.
• Site travel is mandatory coupled with exposure to the head office teams for alignment to business goals and needs.
• Liaise with site project managers and operations managers as required to ensure a fluid service is provide to our mining operations.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Previous supervisory experience in Underground Vertical Development or significant experience in underground vertical development as a senior operator
• Experience in executing project works including timeline and cost management
• High computer literacy with experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Forward planning, strong contract management skills and safety orientation will see you lead the team to successfully
• Strong interpersonal, and leadership skills to effectively deploy, monitor and lead the safety performance of your crews
• A strong safety focus and be a role model for safety
• Hold a manual C Class driver’s license
• Have your First Aid Certificate, or willing to obtain
