Warehouse Administrator/Storeperson 

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the purpose of the role is to execute warehouse operational requirements in a safe, efficient and effective manner, ensuring all materials are received, stored and issued accurately, on-time and in accordance with our specified guidelines, procedures and HSE requirements.

Location

Cannington is one of the world's largest and lowest-cost producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometers west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities. The role is 7/7 roster Fri to Thu ideally Fly-in/Fly-out from Townsville or Drive-in/Drive-out from the Mount Isa area.  

About the role

This position will play a pivotal role in our Supply team here at South32 working in the warehouse and contribute to the success of the warehouse team.

Accountabilities include but not limited to:

• Ability to work in a high-performance team environment handling high pressure tasks.
• Ability to work safely and identify, report and rectify hazards in our Safety Management System.
• Ensure compliance to the 1SAP process for stock administration and capture related transactional data into the 1SAP system.
• Accurately complete all warehouse associated tasks including executing stock, receivals, issues, deliveries, returns, management of repairable stock, management of vendor non-compliance.
• Adhere to defined standard procedures and apply safe work practices. Ensure a secure warehouse, a timely and accurate reporting of all events, hazards & equipment issues, and participate in workplace investigations or observations as required.
• Be a part of the Chain of Responsibility and Load and Unload items from general freight truck and put away the items after receipting.
• Complete stocktaking as per the schedule and maintain good housekeeping activities.
• Ensure deliveries around site are performed and docket collected from other areas for receipting.
• Safely perform night shift duties as and when required.

In addition, you should possess:

• Hold relevant licenses / tickets – Forklift, Dogging, HR Driver’s license.
• Experienced forklift operator.
• Proficiency in using SAP or similar ERP operational experience.
• Basic skills in computer applications such as Microsoft Office products
• Exposure to warehouse and stock administration.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate well.
• High level of safety focus.
