About the Role

This position will see you providing effective administrative and operation support in the execution of routine warehousing activities in a timely and effective manner as instructed by your supervisor. 

The working environment is well structured and operates in line with BHP Billiton’s Charter Values, specified guidelines, processes and procedures.

In this role you will:

  • Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
  • Perform the Distribution functions (including warehousing) to meet agreed service levels for the receipt and distribution of maintenance materials, production consumables and general consumables to site customers. This includes but is not limited to: Issues; Receipts; Picking/packing; Despatch; Deliveries; stock taking; problem solving; and customer service
  • Participate in the implementation of best Distribution and Warehousing practices across Olympic Dam operations 
  • Identify and report on cost savings opportunities, opportunities to reduce waste and better ways to conduct Distribution activities
  • Conduct regular stock takes to ensure accurate stock records and appropriate storage of materials. 
  • Perform tasks in the receiving of goods/material and logs supplier non-conformances
  • Administer quality inspection and assists scheduling technical inspection by qualified personnel
  • Execute on-time picking, packing, consolidation and delivery of materials for planned and scheduled work
  • Administer the collection and dispatch of materials to suppliers for repair, overhaul, return or disposal
  • Accept and store returned unused materials after inspection 
  • Support and maintain a high standard on housekeeping at all times to assist on the journey to meet the 5S Standard
  • Provide excellent service in all dealings with our customers
  • Actively participate in all shift handover, safety and communication meetings
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner within allocated timeframes
  • Participate in any other projects or key tasks as directed by line manager or delegate

About You

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
  • Previous experience in a similar role is required
  • Experience in using SAP (or other ERP) is required
  • Previous experience in a similar industry would be highly regarded
  • Proven ability to demonstrate appropriate HSEC behaviours
  • Exceptional team player and takes actions that demonstrate consideration for other team members
  • Self-starter/proactive
  • Ability to communicate across multiple levels and disciplines
  • Possess experience operating forklifts in a warehousing environment
  • Hold a current drivers licence
