We are looking for an experienced and safety conscious Warehouse Supervisor to join our our team within the Facilities Division of Rio Tinto Iron Ore.
The Facilities Division provides warehouse and logistics, flight and accommodation booking, village, town and aerodrome services to all Iron Ore mine sites and townships throughout the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Providing direct supervision of the daily warehouse operations, you will provide leadership, development and support to a team of warehouse personnel; enabling them to efficiently meet business requirements, whilst driving safety excellence and positive team culture.
Your demonstrated ability to engage, connect and positively influence key stakeholders at all organizational levels will prove valuable to the effectiveness in this role. You will need to draw on your well-developed problem solving abilities to support your team and the wider business in the delivery of solutions.
Working and reporting to the Superintendent Warehouse Coastal, you will be:
Supervising a small team & providing direction in the safe & efficient operations of the warehouse
Building & maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders to align with operational plans & strategies
Driving effective cost management initiatives by identifying & implementing cost saving opportunities
Participating in the preparation of accurate weekly reporting& assigning tasks to team members
Managing all day to day operations through SAP
Coaching, mentoring & driving the use of safety systems within the team
Championing continuous improvement by identifying & implementing changes to optimise warehouse operations
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
A Current "C Class" WA Manual Driver’s License
Strong SAP/ERP experience particularly in SAP managed warehouse systems
Demonstrated Supervisory experience in a similar role
High level of proficiency across the MS Office suite
Strong leadership skills & the ability to contribute to building a team focused on safety & delivering high quality customer service
It will also be beneficial if you have:
A qualification in Warehouse & Logistics or similar related business discipline
Cert IV in frontline management or equivalent
