Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people

The Mine Infrastructure team at Eliwana ensures that mining can operate below the water table, to ensure the site water and power demand has an uninterrupted supply and will be responsible to safely and efficiently install and manage electrical field and trailing cable and operate cable equipment.

Reporting to the Operational Supervisor, this position offers a key role for Fortescue’s Eliwana Mine Infrastructure team focusing on maintaining assets which includes HDPE pipelines, submersible pumps, isolation, control valves and cable management from the 9400E excavator’s fleet.

Key Responsibilities

· Routine servicing, maintenance, and breakdown repairs on the Entire Eliwana water system including pipe work, valves, tanks and control valves.

· Diagnostics and fault finding of the Water system.

· Prioritise and attend breakdowns to ensure minimal downtime

· Removal and installation of Multistage Bore Pumps, Centrifugal Pumps, fire pumps and Isolation and controls valves

· Refuelling of generators and pumps

· Monitoring of environmental requirements, water supply and demand balance.

· Operating Wheel loader (WA430), Excavator (PC290) and cable loader (CAT988)

· Coordinate with the mine Infrastructure high voltage electrical team for any switching requirements.

· Interpreting and executing cable run designs with mine planning the cable locations from pit crest transformers to the Excavator switch and Excavator. This includes installing signage, delineation and protective arches and road cover as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Water Services background in Poly welding- system building and repair.

· Self-motivated and ability to work in a small strong team environment as well as individually.

· Strong organisational and communication skills both verbal and written.

· Demonstrate strong safety values.

· Excellent planning, problem solving, communication and logistics skills.

· Ability to read and understand mine plans, risk management and hazard recognition.

· Experience with Fortescue’s computer-based systems (BMS, SAP)

· Poly welding, Excavator, Loader and chainsaw tickets.

· HR driver’s license, forklift essential.

· Rigging or dogging tickets preferable.
