Water Services Operations Supervisor 

Work Location:

Solomon

  • Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi people.

Roster:

8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth

Reporting to the water services coordinator, you will be responsible for all aspects of dewatering and water services for operational mining. You will lead a team of committed people who share a vision of being the safest and most efficient team. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate strong Fortescue values
  • Provide technical guidance and positive leadership to the team to drive department safety & efficiency
  • Coordinate closely with Perth Hydrology and site mine planning teams to effectively plan priority dewatering work to achieve targets and ensure mine plan is met.
  • Conduct inspections of water services infrastructure and workshops
  • Engage team members in field interactions, investigate incidents and assist in the facilitation of the Identify and Rectify improvement process
  • Ensure that water services achieve or exceed safety performance and budget
  • Engage with key operational stakeholders including safety, environmental, mining, Drill and blast, hydrology, engineering, planning and maintenance teams.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Considerable experience in a similar role
  • Strong leadership experience and ability to engage and empower teams 
  • Experience in water services operations including bore fields, mine plans, equipment isolations and water compliance requirements
  • Competent understanding of pipe schematics, isolation and permitting systems
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proven commitment to safety
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft office and SAP
  • Experienced in Frontline supervision including DMIRS section 26 accountabilities
