About the Role

NPI Water Central operate and maintain a number of Water Treatment plants, Bore fields, Waste Water and Surplus Water (aquifer reinjection) assets across the Pilbara region.

The role will be based at Area C on a family friendly 7/7 fly-in fly-out roster from Perth and you will be working alongside a committed and outcomes focused team that dedicatedly approaches the challenges they face.

The Water Services Technician will be responsible for operating and monitoring drinking and wastewater treatment processes to ensure safe operations and compliance with health and environmental conditions. Completing routine plant inspections and reporting of faults and facilitating maintenance activities are typical daily duties.

Whilst your commitment to health, safety and the environment will be a key focus, you will also be responsible for duties including, but not limited to:

  • Operating and maintaining water treatment processes in line with design requirements and technical operating procedures.
  • Field water and/or wastewater sampling and testing
  • Field data collection to record into a database and reporting of any anomalies or exceedances against guidelines to the Supervisor.
  • Complete scheduled work to time and quality standards.
  • Participate in safe job planning, team meetings and workplace inspections.
  • Attend Afterhours breakdowns by being part of an on-call roster.
  • Assist the Supervisor in identifying and implementing initiatives that commit value to the business.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Certificate 3 or higher in Water Operations looked upon favourably
  • High attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Enjoyment working within a team environment and also comfortable working independently in remote locations
  • Valid Australian C class drivers license
  • Demonstrated ability working with Ground (Bore) Water Treatment processes, SCADA systems and chemical processes including chlorine gas disinfection.
  • Experience in Field laboratory testing and use of analytical instruments
  • Wastewater processing and control of aerobic/anoxic biological processes would be desirable but not essential.
