About the Role

If you are an outcomes focused, energetic person that is absolutely passionate about all water safety and compliance functions then you will be an ideal candidate for this Water Source Specialist role.

Reporting to the Water Source and Surplus Supervisor (whom shares the same passion and values) within the Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) team you will be responsible for co-ordinating and leading catchment and source protection plans, and Surplus Water Operational procedures for the NPI Water Team.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Drinking Water catchment management plan development;
  • Catchment, source, and surplus surveillance monthly reporting;
  • Source water quality and quantity forecasting;
  • Annual & Triannual aquifer reviews;
  • Source risk assessments including drinking water source categorisation;
  • Monthly system performance and KPI reports;
  • Assessment and investigation of aquifer water level and hydrochemistry trends;
  • Owner of source water and environmental sampling schedules for 5C, Part IV and Part V compliance.  

About You

As the successful candidate you will ideally possess the following: 

  • University degree in source water hydrology or equivalent;
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of source water systems (compliance and protection) and how they link into drinking water systems, monitoring, and the requirements of compliance to ADWG;
  • Post university experience in water, or heavy industry environment (in Australia) that has previously managed water in accordance with the ADWG and WSAA Health Based Targets Manual;
  • Previous experience with external government regulators (DWER and DoH) would be preferred;
  • Previous experience with Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) would be advantageous.

You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’.
