About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Water Technician to join our Wambo team. This role will be responsible for the operation and monitoring of the dewatering and water supply systems to meet day-to-day requirements including Complex User demands.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operate pumps and associated water infrastructure to OEM and site specifications.
  • Maintain required water supply to Users, and adequate freeboard as per the Water Management TARP.
  • Conduct daily inspections of dams, water system infrastructure and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot pump, valve, and pipework issues, in consultation with Water Management Coordinator.
  • Continually review processes carried out with the object of improvement and make changes as opportunities arise.
  • Ensure that all statutory requirements and standards are met in consultation with the Water Management Coordinator.

The Lifestyle

The roster for this position will be 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off and can allow for a residential lifestyle.

Desirable (training can be provided):

  • Mechanical trade qualification
  • Experience with pumps, pipes, pumping, or polywelding
  • Polywelding, Dogman, or Dam Safety Surveillance qualifications
  • Coal mining industry experience
