We are looking for an Electrician – Water and Waste Water to be a part of a small support operations team to meet safety, production and operational efficiency targets.

Reporting to the Crew Leader – Tailings and Water and working a 12hr Day 4 on, 4 off Continuous roster within the water and Waste team, you will be;
- Operating and maintaining water supply, sewage and water treatment infrastructure;
- Perform on call responsibilities which includes attending water and waste water treatment equipment failures;
- In-field troubleshooting of plant specific faults;
- Fostering a culture of zero harm and continuous improvement;
- Working towards increasing equipment reliability.
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team;
- An Electrician trade qualification;
- Experience working on potable water and waste water assets;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work effectively within a team although capable of working independently;
- Sound problem solving abilities and strong attention to detail;
- Experience with SCADA and Factory talk systems.
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Cert 3 water/waste water operations;
- Cert 4 instrumentation /instrumentation experience;
- Dogger/ Rigger / Forklift license;
- HR license;
- Knowledge of SAP or other maintenance management systems;
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office;

Where you’ll be working
Our Weipa operations in Far North Queensland includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, shiploaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals.Amrun, our newest mine, was completed in 2018 and will extend our Weipa bauxite operations by decades, significantly building on our 55-year history on the Western Cape, and providing jobs and supporting business growth in the region. The mine is located on traditional land. We work closely with the Traditional Owners to implement our agreements, ensuring that the benefits generated from mining support future generations and that important cultural heritage sites are identified and preserved.
