About the role

Our Women in Leadership program is looking for our next leaders. The greatest thing about our program is you do not need any prior experience in our industry or as a Supervisor! We provide you with all the training and upskilling required to start your career journey at Rio Tinto.
The program will run for approximately 12 months, depending on your individual needs, and will be made up of a range of development activities including formal learning, on-the-job learning and coaching, mentoring and networking. You bring your transferable skills and passion for the women in leadership program provides a supportive environment to learn and grow into one of our future leaders.
You will gain operational exposure in working at one of our bauxite mines, alumina refineries or aluminium smelter sites. As a Supervisor, each day will be different, as you lead a team to execute their daily tasks, whilst keeping safety at the forefront of everything you do.

These roles will be based at one of the following sites, if you do not reside locally, you will be given relocation assistance for you and your family to start your new career journey.
- Gove – Northern Territory
- Weipa - Queensland
- Gladstone - Queensland
- Bell Bay – Tasmania
- Invercargill – New Zealand

Our traditional roster arrangements for Supervisors vary across our operational and maintenance teams and can include:
- 4 on/4 off - day and night shifts
- Lifestyle roster - day and night shifts
- 9-day fortnight
- Monday to Friday
