Aeris Resources is a mid-tier base and precious metals producer. Its copper-dominant portfolio comprises four operating assets, a long-life development project and a highly prospective exploration portfolio, spanning Queensland, Western Australia, New South Wales and Victoria. Our headquarters are in Brisbane.
The Operation
The Stockman Project is an advanced copper and zinc development project located approximately 300km north-east of Melbourne in the East Gippsland region of Victoria. Stockman is an exciting long-life project with all primary approvals granted and a definitive feasibility study (DFS) well underway.
The development concept consists of two underground mines, including the historic Wilga Mine and the new Currawong Mine and supporting infrastructure, processing plant and an accommodation village.
Operations will employ conventional long hole stoping and backfill mining methods, with ore trucked to surface. Ore will undergo conventional crushing and grinding before being treated using sequential flotation to produce copper and zinc concentrates containing silver and gold by-products.
The concentrates will be loaded into containers for transport via road train to port for shipping to smelters. Tailings from the process plant will be used to produce paste fill for backfilling underground mining voids. Surplus tailings will be placed in the existing surface tailings storage facility which will be recommissioned during construction.
