Workday Phase 2 Program Functional Workstream Lead

About the Role

We are commencing Phase 2 of our Global Workday implementation. We are looking for a Workday Functional Workstream Lead, who have dual reporting lines to the People Technology Strategy Lead and Workday Program Lead. This person will be someone with prior experience in People Operations and/or business partnering. Workday experience is considered highly beneficial.

This person will be responsible for ensuring Workday Phase 2 functional scope supports the full end-to-end product and process design across the People Domain, including process inputs, on-system steps, off-system steps, process outputs, and data flows. The role will coordinate all Program related deliverables across Global Process roles from inception through to completion. The role will support the People Technology Strategy Lead ensuring smooth integration with Phase 1 delivered Workday scope.

As a member of the People Technology Strategy Team, the Workday Phase 2 Functional Workstream Lead will work closely with the system implementer (SI) on the following responsibilities:

  • End-to-end product and process design for Workday Phase 2 scope

  • Partnering in end-to-end design discussions across all workstreams and functional modules, championing the ‘voice of the customer’, adoption of industry best practice (local deviation by compliance exception only) and ensuring Global Process Owners are aligned with the proposed solution design

  • Partnering with People Transformation to ensure business process and product changes are understood and incorporated into User Experience Model.

  • Guardian of agreed design principles, design blueprint, and realization of objective key results (OKRs) in the Phase 2 delivered scope

  • Partnering with the SI’s Functional Lead, to understand cross-functional components, as well as complex or local deviations that may cause challenges post-deployment if not solutioned for in a standard manner

  • Partnering in the data and integration scoping and approach discussions, ensuring that the business requirements across the functional, data and integration workstreams are aligned and appropriately signed off

  • Leading the on-time delivery of the Configuration Workbooks; Reviewing all workbooks for completeness and quality standards as part of the sign-off process

  • Leading the Prototype Review and Testing Workshops, in partnership with the SI to encourage business buy in to the solution

  • Escalating, triaging and monitoring unresolved functional issues, constraints and programme risks to the appropriate governance groups

  • Partnering with Information, Systems & Technology (IS&T) to ensure an integrated product design.

In addition to your Workday program responsibilities, you will work closely with the Process & Product Lead to ensure Phase 2 scope integrates smoothly and in a structured way with Business as usual (BAU) scope within the People Domain

What you’ll bring

  • Prior experience in People Operations and/or Business Partnering

  • Background in IT, Data or Systems; Workday experience is highly desirable

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including leading project teams or work streams

  • Ability to coach and influence senior leaders in a way that tests conventional thinking and challenges the status quo

  • Ability to convert complex business requirements into a fit-for-purpose solution design and outcome driven approach

  • Strong advocate for the Workday product and ability to develop deep product knowledge throughout the implementation

  • Experience in Program and Risk Management well regarded

  • Degree in engineering or related experience.
