Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation which utilises truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi-soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for domestic power generation and use in steel production. We are located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, proactive and committed CHPP Maintenance Superintendent to join our team. Reporting to the CHPP Manager and working closely with the CHPP Production Superintendent, you will lead a high‑performing maintenance team including Supervisors, Planners, Scheduler and Engineers.
In this role, you will provide strong, visible leadership and take accountability for the CHPP maintenance budget and asset management strategy. You will actively manage maintenance expenditure, closely analyse cost drivers, and ensure all work is executed with a disciplined focus on value, efficiency and budget performance.
You will lead the planning and prioritisation of maintenance activities, ensuring that resources are allocated responsibly to deliver strategic outcomes. As a proactive problem‑solver, you will identify opportunities to optimise costs, reduce unplanned downtime, improve the reliability and performance of fixed plant assets. Your commitment to continuous improvement and commercial discipline will be critical in maximising availability while minimising maintenance and production costs, all in alignment with the Glencore Asset Management Framework.
It is essential that you hold:
Mechanical or Electrical Trade or Engineering Qualification
Experience in fixed plant maintenance
It is highly desirable that you have:
An Asset and Maintenance Management qualification
Maintenance Planning experience
