Bulga Open Cut is a long established and consistently performing open cut coal operation located near Singleton in the NSW Hunter Valley, with extensive mine approvals extending until 2038. We are seeking a reliable and motivated Process Engineer to join our high performing operation on a 12-month fixed term contract, working a Monday to Friday roster. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the optimisation of plant performance while delivering technical support to the CHPP team and working collaboratively with operations to deliver safe, efficient and reliable processing outcomes.
About the Role:
Reporting to the CHPP Superintendent, you will play a key role in maximising coal beneficiation operations at Bulga CHPP by monitoring product yield and quality and driving productivity to meet site production targets. The role will also act as a key interface between the CHPP Operations and Mining, Geology and Logistics while providing technical support to the CHPP team. Key responsibilities include:
Monitor and optimise product yield and product quality
Drive loss elimination and implement corrective actions to improve plant reliability, efficiency and product quality
Provide day-to-day technical support for the CHPP Operations
Monitor plant performance KPI’s and prepare technical reports
Support coal quality management and coordinate all sampling activities
Communicate and liaise with other departments to support plant productivity
Adhere to all safety requirements and procedures
About you:
Tertiary qualifications in Chemical, Process or Metallurgy Engineering
Previous experience working in a CHPP or mineral processing environment
Experience using process monitoring and analysis tools
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and an ability to interpret technical information
Excellent communication skills
Proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence
