GM3 is an emerging Australian metallurgical coal mining entity owned by global investment entity Golden Energy and Resources (GEAR) and M Resources, a market leader in metallurgical coal industry services.

Illawarra Metallurgical Coal (IMC) produces premium quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent full-time position based at our Dendrobium Coal Processing Plant, Port Kembla in the coastal city of Wollongong and approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Sydney.

As the Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the electrical engineering to meet required standards and ensuring maintenance of physical assets is executed safely by maintenance personnel.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Provide input to Maintenance Coordinators on the planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities.
  • Accountable for equipment and engineering strategies and master data in line with long term plans and operational targets, collaborating with Asset Management function.
  • Managing PLC hardware, software and networks for automated operation.
  • Scoping of future capital project works and oversight of works in execution ensuring work is completed safely and to the required standards.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

  • Prior experience in a similar role within mining or heavy industry.
  • Able to scope engineering projects and introduce and/or modify assets and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs and networks.
  • Familiar with Australian Electrical Standards and Legislation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment within a workplace

Qualifications for this position are: 

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering 
  • Valid C Class Drivers Licence
