Our Cadia operation in Australia is now recruiting for the position of UG Development Electrical Technician (Level 4) Monday to Friday.

Who we’re looking for

Reporting to the Electrical Specialist, you will enjoy working in a close-knit team of experienced underground electricians and take responsibility for maintenance & install on a range of underground mining plant and electrical systems.

Your primary responsibilities will be to Plan and Organise the electrical works for our Development electrical team.

Key deliverables of this role include, but not limited to:

  • Ensure work notifications are entered with the correct detail and time frame required for repair.
  • Capture and raise issues within their respective areas using the tools and systems provided e.g. work notifications, hazard cards.
  • Ensure all electrical installations are compliant with relevant Australian standards and the required paperwork is filled out and filed.
  • Asset management of all new Development infrastructure ensuring Assets are entered into SAP and maintenance strategies implemented.
  • Work in with the Underground mine development team to forward plan and budget all electrical infrastructure required for future development activities.
  • Engage Daily with other development teams and not limited to Mining, Fleet, Fixed Plant Maintenance and Ventilation.

As the ideal candidate, you will be a team player with excellent work ethics and a can-do attitude. You will appreciate being part of a collaborative team and foster continuous improvement through your excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. In addition, you will also ideally have:

  • Relevant post trade experience as a qualified HV Electrician within the mining or heavy industries
  • A current NSW Electrical Supervisor/ Contractors Licence and NSW Electrical License
  • NSW Manual Class Driver's License
  • LVR/CPR tickets
  • Experience with HV or HV cable splicing & termination, HV Switching and a valid Working at Heights ticket will be highly desirable.
  • Experience in Underground Development Mining Installation and maintenance will be required.

Please note: This is a full-time permanent role, based at our Cadia operation in NSW. You will be required to work a 5D/2X or 9 day fortnight roster. There will be a requirement to be flexible with hours during shutdown periods. This is a residential role only (no FIFO/DIDO).
