We are seeking an Environment & Community Advisor to join our Complex Services team. Reporting to the Senior Environment Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting environmental compliance, monitoring programs, contractor management, biodiversity initiatives and community engagement activities across the operation.

About the role

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing environmental support and advice to operational teams.
• Coordinating environmental monitoring programs including water, air quality, noise, dust and biodiversity.
• Managing environmental contractors and specialist consultants.
• Supporting environmental compliance, approvals and reporting requirements.
• Maintaining environmental management plans, systems and records.
• Assisting with biodiversity stewardship and conservation agreement management.
• Supporting community engagement initiatives and stakeholder relationships.
• Investigating environmental incidents and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Participating in audits, inspections and regulatory interactions.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 2-5 years' experience in an environmental role within mining, resources, infrastructure or heavy industry.
• Experience managing environmental contractors and consultants.
• Experience in environmental monitoring, data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation, approvals and compliance requirements.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• GIS capability and experience.
• A proactive approach and strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Highly regarded

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Experience with environmental management plans, rehabilitation and biodiversity programs.
• Previous coal mining experience.
