About the Opportunity:
As the HSEQ Compliance Coordinator you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the quality and compliance requirements as set out in our licencing agreements, the Groups safety health management plan and overarching legislation. You’ll also provide the Regional HSECT Manager and Operational Leaders with health, safety and training related support that enables our operational teams to deliver excellent work safety, be responsive and productive.
Whilst majority of time will be spent working from the Gateshead office, an important part of the role is to spend time on our projects (on-site) assessing and testing our effectiveness and upskilling the safety management, quality control and compliance capability of our team.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Maintain the quality and compliance requirements associated with our licencing and safe delivery of work/services;
- Undertake reporting and analysis of test findings;
- Own and deliver actions associated with implementing safety initiatives;
- Identify and action areas of improvement;
- Assist with risk assessments, incident investigations and delivery of improvement actions;
- Coach and guide others, particularly operational team members, to develop their safety, quality and compliance capability;
- Analyse data to improve safety and health outcomes;
- Develop great relationships that allow you to be trusted by, relied on and influence others.
About You:
- Experience in a comparable compliance, quality and safety role;
- Experience in the resource sector (highly desirable but not essential) and/or a contracting or services business;
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation and the ability to interpret and easily explain compliance, quality policy/processes to others;
- Very strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with people from the coal face to corporate / senior leaders and external suppliers;
- Demonstrated natural propensity to seek out opportunities to simplify processes (within compliance and quality parameters);
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, across a number of teams, within a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
- Exceptional attention to detail;
- A can-do, positive mindset and behaviours.
