Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation which utilises truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi-soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for domestic power generation and use in steel production. We are located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.

As a team member of our Maintenance Department and reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will be effectively maintaining modern, heavy earth moving plant and equipment to a high standard.

Safety focused with a positive attitude toward completing quality work you will be focused on achieving availability and reliability targets and driving maintenance performance.

The essential requirements for success in this role:

• Relevant Mechanical Trade qualification or equivalent

• Heavy mobile equipment maintenance experience including Caterpillar, Liebherr and/or Hitachi

• Experience and understanding of working under safety rules, policies and procedures  

• A team player that’s able work well in a dynamic environment

• Solid communication skills

It is desirable that you have:

• Open Cut Coal Mining experience

• Demonstrated exposure to computerised maintenance management systems and knowledge of SAP (desirable)
