The role of Systems and Assurance Coordinator is to support the team to ensure the Safety Management Systems and processes meet or exceed both Glencore Coal Assets Australia and Legislative requirements.

To provide the resource for the planning, coordination and completion of assurance activities required from both internal and external stakeholders which may include assistance with compliance across the operation. Offering advice and direction regarding any flagged areas of concern and raise concerns and offer solutions to members of the team who can facilitate control.

Schedule, participate and facilitate verification activities to support and sustain business needs. Coordinate the entry of assurance activity reports and action plans into the HSEC database, compiling and providing reports on individual assurance activity status, action completion and verification.

To have the ability to step back and observe business performance in relation to compliance; Read the play – what is coming, what is important, action required.

Monitor and flag areas of assurance which require improvement – understanding areas of influence across GCAA, Resource Regulator, Legal and other Stakeholders. Consider impact on our operation and the requirements to develop to the required standard.

Oversee the document control process to maintain Safety Management System currency.
